Merry Christmas! I can’t believe I’m blogging on Christmas day but that’s what I’m doing.
And it’s precisely because I’m sick!
How horrible to be sick on a public holiday. (Actually I have a bad cold and a scratchy throat and don’t feel like eating at all. So there goes all the Christmas visiting!)
But each time I am sick, I become even more grateful for good health. Really. It’s rather strange. Although I don’t like being sick, I know that sickness is one of those things which happen. It’s not forever. It’s a temporary setback.
And this temporary setback allows me to think how fantastic it is to be well and healthy and be able to do all the things I want to do (like eat!).
And yes, I did do my last minute Christmas shopping last night at Jusco Bukit Raja. (*sheepish grin*). I think it’s more of “not knowing” what to buy for my loved ones than procrastination.
Anyway, have a good holiday season and rest well.
Guess what? The old lady has cough and flu on this merry day too!! 🙁 Anyway, have a *batuk* Merry Christmas and *ah choo* a blessed New Year!
Oh no! Poor you!!!! Take good care, girl!
Ah…. must be the eating and pigging in Banting the week before. Bah Kut Teh and satay and nasi lemak with the lovely sambal is a deadly combination and perfect for sore-throat later. Take lots of warm water, with honey if possible to soothe the scratchy throat. I was unwell too for the past few days.. had viral fever and stormy stomach. Plenty of wind and just could not take in any solid food plus no appetitie.. so Christmas was celebrated on porridge and tasteless food. Much better today and just about time for me to begin my house shifting exercise. Take good care and rest more.
I spent ChrisTmas Day on a 6 hour plane journey with my two kids whilst my wife was happy holidaying in Singapore. Fun, it was not. They wouldn’t even sleep. And we didn’t even see Santa on his way back to the North Pole whilst we were up above the clouds. Bah. Humbug.
Vern: Ah yes, we poor little old ladies. Suffering! I got back to Penang on Wednesday evening, driving the whole 4 hours while coughing away and eating Gardenia bread in the car. Had to come back, drag myself to drive home.
Marsha: Yep, it’s terrible to be sick. I’m much better now, but sinseh’s medicine is slow and steady in operating on my cough and cold.
Kate: I blame the weather. My mum, sisters, nephew and baby niece were sick too. Poor Vinnie was even admitted to the hospital on Christmas Day as the doc thought she had either measles or denggue! It turned out to be nothing serious, just some rashes on a 16-month old toddler which made her cranky with a temperature. I did not even have my proper bak kut teh or nasi lemak. Hmmm! Congrats on the house though. It must be so exciting to move into your own place!
D: Haha. We all have our scary Xmas stories to tell. Your wife is one smart cookie you know. By the way, have you read “White Teeth” by Zadie Smith? So hilarious!
Happy New Year to you and Nic! the banting family spent the holidays in melaka this year, so we didnt go to banting this year, i would have called you if we did. sorry to hear about the “bad weather” you’re having, hope you’re feeling better now! 🙂 take care krista!
HI Alison: Thanks! Nah, no prob. I wasn’t feeling up to visiting friends either due to my sniffles and all. 😉 Let’s catch up again when you are up in Pg.
